Day at the beach 7-23-08

I took the girls to Moonlight Beach on Wednesday Morning for the first time. We made sand castles and Mermaids. Alyssa did not like the fact that there was a lot of seaweed on the beach so stayed close to the blanket.
There are no sea shells on this beach but a lot of smooth black stones large and small. The sand is hot but very soft. We went back later that night with daddy and John to have a picnic on the beach.(we ordered Pizza) Since we only live about 2 miles from the beach, I am hoping that we will be able to spend more time there. Maybe again this week!

Relaxing the day after 7-20-08

So the party was a success and I think everyone had a good time. After we cleaned up we decided to take the rest of the day to relax. We have been going for the entire week unpacking and getting ready for the party so we were done some down time. Alex and John put up the hammock between the only two big palm trees we have in our back yard . You can see the mountains during the day and the city lights at night . So here is daddy and Alyssa taking a little siesta while John relaxes on the couch and Isabel being only 5 yrs old, does not know how to relax, so here she is smiling.

Alyssa's 3rd Birthday Party

We celebrated Alyssa's birthday with our new neighbors and Alex's co-workers on July 19th. She turned 3 on July 11th and we went to see her favorite movie Wall E. (where she fell asleep because she missed her nap that day)

I think the kids all had a good time, we had lots of food and cake along with painting and the ball pit for the little ones. She was very excited to receive her gifts and was even happier that they were all hers. I think this year was the first year she really understood what was happening and that it was all for her. Of course Isabel was not happy about that but she had fun with her friends too. Here she is painting with her new friends Lauren and Rae'bel.

Sunny California

Well we made it, we are finally in our new house and our furniture has arrived. We moved in with just a few items on the eve of June 30th and had the painters her at 7:30 AM the next day. After days of cleaning carpets ,cabinets, and bathrooms we then painted the kids rooms. Alex did the girls room in their favorite colors, Brown & Pink, and I painted Johns room in a deep bight blue. The girls only had to sleep on the floor for two nights until we got them their bunk bed and mattresses but the rest of us, including Ashlee, had to sleep in our sleeping bags.

Since our furniture has arrived last Saturday we have been very busy unpacking and planning a birthday party/BBQ. I am happy to say that the unpacking is done and the party was a success. We had a few of Alex's coworkers and their families over along with five families from our new neighborhood. The party was last night so I can also gladly tell you that was cleaned up much last night and then vegged out all day today!!! First Time Since We Got Here. It was nice. I will post the hammock pics later.

The Girls are adjusting well, meeting kids in the neighborhood while John has a few new friends from the Football team. He went to the beach on Friday Morning to play some V-ball and did not make it home till almost Midnight. He had a great time.

We are very blessed to have great friends in NJ and now to have found a neighborhood and area filled with great people. The church we have been going to is very nice and has a great youth program that we are hoping John will get into. They have a bonfire get together this week at the beach so you know he wont pass that up. One of our neighbors introduced us to the church and I think it is the one for us.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, sorry it took so long to update the blog but our Internet was not hooked up until last week and then you know what I was doing until now. Chillaxing!

I will post the pics soon and try to keep up with our lives here and share them with you all. Lots of Love to everyone from the whole Alon Family
