Johns first day of Senior Year

As you can see he is the same old John we all know and love. I was really happy to get a picture of him because lately he hides his face from the camera. He must of been in a really good mood this morning. John has been practicing with the La Costa Canyon Football team since the 2nd day we arrived in So Cal so I was great way for him to meet his peers before the school year started. This is Johns senior year and we were sad to move him out of his old school right before he graduated with all his friends that he grow up with but he has shown us that he can adapt to making new friends and enjoying what this place has to offer.

He has 6 classes in all and they work on a block schedule which means he only has 3 classes a day not including lunch. Oh yea and the cafeterias out here are all out side, just tables with a roof over head. He is happy to finally be driving his 1987 Ford to school everyday and passing his written test for his Ca drivers license. Anyway we are very proud of him and are very excited to go and watch his first football scrimmage tomorrow night. He is such a ham isn't he!

Isabels 1st day of Kindergarden!

Monday August 18th .

Isabel enjoyed her first day of kindergarten. She was all dressed up with backpack and lunch box ready to go. Daddy took the morning off to share this special moment with her. We all went to see her class and meet her new teacher. The teacher first read them a story and all the kids listened very carefully since it was a story of the first day of school.

She has met many new classmates and hopes to make them her friends. The little girl in red is Sabrina and by the end of story time they were holding hands on their way to the multi purpose for some fun. After school she told me that she had such a great time and could not wait till tomorrow to come again. I just hope she remembers this when she gets into Highschool.

Natural History Museum

Last weekend the whole family went to the San Diego National History Museum. We saw all kinds of prehistoric animals and some of them were very life like. Isable of course know different and tried sitting on anything that sat still and was her height. H2O was the big theme this summer at the Museum so there was a lot of hands on thing for the kids to do. We all had a good time and it was only 20 minutes from our new home.

The girls are easy to get to sit and smile for the camera but John is another story all together. I tried several times to get him on camera and got his hand or back of his head instead. This was the only one shot I was able to get. Alyssa liked to look at all the creatures, especially the one that did not move. Here she was talking to the crane. In the beginning there was this lion on the top of this rock that the girls looked at and by the end Daddy was trying to feed Alyssa to him.

Smores for everyone!

Here is one of the girls new favorite things to do, Make Sm ores. It seems to be a once a week thing now that we will sit outback around the fire pit and make smores. The girls love to melt the marshmallows but Alyssa steels a few just to eat while waiting for hers to melt. I think it is also one of Daddy's new favorite things to do to.

Our day at the pool

The kids and I went to the neighborhood pool and we all had a really good time. The girls still do not know how to swim so John and I were trying to teach them the simple doggie paddle. Isabel is starting to get it but Alyssa not so much. When she kicks it looks like she is just walking under the water.
They both enjoy being able to be in the water with their swimmies and being on their own, as you can see from the smiles on their faces.

Day 3 in our new house July 2, 2008

So we put everyone to work as soon as we got into our new house, well almost everyone. John and Ashlee decided to take a siesta and we haven't been able to get them to do any work since. The girl s on the hand couldn't wait get their hands, and everything, dirty. They had fun helping daddy paint their new bedroom.
