Day at the Museums

Last week the girls and I went to Balboa Park and visited several of the museums. Each week the park has different museums open free to the residents of San Diego. We went through 3 museums, had a snack picnic, rode on the tram around the park, and visited one of the world cottages for only $3.04 and that was for those special penny machines. We visited the air and space museum first and the girls loved all the hands on things to do. They got to sit in a small plane and aerospace vehicle. They was also very interested in the space shuttle pictures and craft that was on display. Asking all kinds of questions and also being a little scared at the space suit that was displayed(Alyssa did not like the fact that it was headless).

At the exit of the museum there is penny squashing machine that imprints a picture of an airplane on the penny and the girls just had to have. Then we decided to have a little snack picnic on our blanket under a shaded tree and take a walk around to the world cottages. There was only 2 open the day we went so we went to ck out all the beautiful and different things in them.
We then went to the automobile museum where again the girls touched all they could including this motorcycle. Not too much for the girls here but we saw some motor cross bikes and cool cars. Isabel liked the one where the doors lifted up not out and some where the motor was in the rear of the car not the front. Of course there was another penny machine here too, so the girls each picked out a car to have imprinted on their penny. Last we went to the sports museums and I have to say that my princesses did not care to much for this place . We looked around a short while then on the way out looked all over for the penny machine and there was none to be found. The girls were disappointed so we decided to go for a ride on the park tram before we left for the day. It is free to ride but we gave a tip of $1 since we were only using it for a ride. All and all we had a great day and it only cost us 20 minutes of travel time and a very small amount of cash.

Johns First Game

Johns First Football Game playing for La Costa Canyon High School, Aug 28th. #17 was very excited at starting as DB for his first game.

He started as a strong DB. Here are a few pics I took during the game. John's number is17th and they have several Jerseys. He had a great time and was on the field about 3 plays during this game. He recently went to Utah to play St. George High and was on the field about 3 plays there too. La costa Canyon is a strong team and won both games. They have games every Friday Night and are predicted to go to the finals, which means playing until Mid Dec.

Ice Cream Social

Friday Sept 5Th was the Ice Cream Social at Park Dale Lane (Isabel's New School). The girls all had a great time playing all kinds of games. Here they are enjoying some ice cream and snow cones with Isabels school mate Jessie. The girls had a great time as you see here they are danceing on the podium and this was the end of the night.
Even Alyssa joined in the fun. She bowled and got 7 pins the first roll down the lane. She also got a tattoo, played the fishing game, ping pong ball game, and the ring toss.

Here is Isabel getting her hair sprayed purple and sliding down the big big slid, which she did 3 or 4 times and loved it! She also played the bean bag toss game and bowled a strike.

The theme was the Olympics, so here is the number 1 USA mouse who got the gold!
